SUCCESS STORY: LAMBDA^® CHAIN TO THE RESCUE FOR AN INTERNATIONAL FOOD & BEVERAGE PROCESSOR

Lambda^® chain was created for the marketplace specifically for applications where it is difficult to maintain lubrication. In final packaging applications, lubrication can be near impossible due to the likelihood of the it coming in contact with and contaminating the product. In this application, the final cartons of pasta were moving down a cartoning conveyor. Lubrication was not a viable option as the excess lubrication was showing up on their final product packaging.

Lambda^® chain was presented in this applications because the chain does not require external lubrication. Additionally, Lambda^® chain comes with a food-grade lube style, oil-impregnated bushing that allows for the pin-bushing area to remain properly lubricated while preventing excess oil from contaminating the packaging.

The initial carbon steel chain was replaced after 9 months of service and the current Tsubaki chain is still running and performing one year after installation. So far this has yielded a realized cost savings of $80,481.48 for the 2 strands of chain.
